Vitamin C: Strengthens blood vessels, counteracts the formation of tooth necks. It can be found in strawberries, blackcurrants, strawberries, kiwi, red and green peppers, tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, parsley, cabbage, cauliflower.
Vitamin D: It is needed for the body to assimilate calcium and phosphorus. Sources of vitamin D are fatty fish such as eel, herring, salmon, cod, tinned fish, mackerel.
Calcium: Influences the hardness of bones and is found mainly in dairy products, eggs, cheese, kefir, buttermilk, sesame, poppy seeds.
Fluoride: Strengthens the enamel and protects against decay. Contains black and green tea, fluoridated salt, mineral water, fish, rice, soya, carrots.
A proper diet should consist mainly of vegetables and fruit, preferably raw. Meals should be eaten five times a day at regular times. The teeth should be cleaned after each meal. If this is not possible, chewing sugar-free gum for 5 to 10 minutes is recommended.
Snacking between meals should also be avoided.
The order of consumption is important. Eat sweets, dried fruit, etc. at the very beginning. We finish by eating products such as milk, milk products, vegetables, fruit and fish.
The consumption of sweets should be limited. It is beneficial to eat them once a day in a larger portion rather than more often in small portions. Sugars are the best breeding ground for bacteria, so the worst for your teeth are lollipops, sweets, all sweets that coat the teeth (e.g. toffees) and crisps. We should also avoid sweetened drinks.
After brushing your teeth in the evening, you should not consume any sweet liquids, only water is allowed.
