As bipolar disorder and Borderline personality disorder can have a similar clinical course, there is a risk of misdiagnosis in patients. An accurate diagnosis in patients with these disorders is important because the treatment of these entities is different, but so are the risks associated with them. The similarities are sometimes so great that even an experienced psychiatrist may encounter problems in differentiating BPAD from Borderline: however, there are ways around them.
