Alcoholism, or chronic alcohol dependence, is a huge problem in the Polish population. It is estimated that around 800 000 Poles (mainly men) are addicted to this substance, and another 2 - 2.5 million abuse it. Practically in every family there will be at least one person with an alcohol problem. The scale of the problem is therefore huge, and unfortunately awareness of the fatal consequences of this addiction is low.
