Community psychiatry is a vague, heterogeneous and multicontextual concept. In the text, the author presents four main fields in which the concept of community psychiatry is used, which appear in discussions and public debate. These are the understanding of community psychiatry as an idea, working methods, organisational model and contexts of psychiatry. Although the term is used to describe different mechanisms, all understandings share a perspective on mental health.
