Baastrup's disease, also known as Baastrup's syndrome, is a special case of degenerative changes in the spinal vertebrae. The pain syndrome caused by this condition is due to excessive mobility of the affected motor segment, in line with the mechanism of degenerative changes, or it may be the result of excessively long spinous processes that rub against each other, causing painful symptoms.
