Bell's palsy is a syndrome of symptoms involving the facial region that results from dysfunction of one of the cranial nerves: the facial nerve. The condition is still somewhat enigmatic due to the fact that its aetiology is not entirely clear and due to the varied nature of its course. Although the symptoms of facial nerve dysfunction may resolve spontaneously, some patients, unfortunately, struggle with the condition for a long time.
