Hakim's syndrome, or normotensive hydrocephalus, is a pathological condition manifested by a dilatation of the ventricular system of the brain with normal cerebrospinal fluid pressure. Hakim's triad as a set of basic symptoms to diagnose this pathological condition plays an important role. The treatment that is most commonly used is surgical implantation of valves.
