Heart failure in children is one of the big diagnostic and therapeutic challenges for paediatric cardiologists, neonatologists and paediatricians. In adults, the diagnosis and clinical picture can greatly facilitate an accurate and rapid diagnosis. In neonates and young children, if only because communication is difficult, diagnosis may be delayed and the clinical picture may not necessarily suggest a cardiac cause at the first moment.
