Red stilettos

Most women feel more attractive, taller and slimmer by wearing high-heeled shoes - commonly known as 'stilettos'.

This type of shoe not only gives more confidence, but also attracts the gaze of men. Women tend to buy several pairs of stilettos, following in the footsteps of many celebrities, with record-breaking women having hundreds of pairs in their wardrobe. Can frequent wearing of stilettos harm a woman's health? It certainly does, and the changes and ailments resulting from wearing high heels get worse with age. Here are the negative health effects of wearing heels:

POSTURAL DEFECTS

Wearing high-heeled shoes can expose you to a number of adverse conditions, but the most annoying symptom is a sore back - mainly the lumbosacral and cervical regions. When walking on stilettos, the spine is forced into an abnormal bend - lordosis. Muscle overload causes pain.

HTN LLUCKS

High-heeled shoes can lead to hallux valgus (hallux valgus). Wearing stilettos overloads the feet - including the toes. If the toes are pressed into the shoe from the front and sides, the toes are bent laterally. This leads to deformation of the metatarsophalangeal joint - a characteristic protrusion (inflamed synovial bursa) and the formation of a hallux valgus. This condition does not occur suddenly - it is a long-term condition that develops over many years.

VARICOSE VEINS

Varicose veins are caused by impaired blood circulation and its pressure on the walls of the venous vessels. Wearing high-heeled shoes causes blood to flow more slowly through the veins and permanently dilates them. Healthy blood vessels rhythmically dilate and contract, which aids blood transport in the body. The valves in the venous vessels do not allow blood to back up. Abnormal circulation can cause impaired valve function.

SHORTENING OF THE ACHILLES TENDON

Wearing stilettos for long periods of time can cause the Achilles tendon to shorten and deform over time The first symptom is difficulty standing freely on the whole foot. The Achilles tendon in people who wear heeled shoes becomes thicker, harder and less flexible over time.

INJURIES - SPRAIN OF THE KOSCTI

When heels are too narrow or ill-fitting to the body, then it is easy to lose balance and twist the ankle joint or have a painful fall. Why is the ankle joint 'weakened' in women who wear high-heeled shoes? Because the joint lengthens becoming weak and unable to stabilise the foot and ankle.

It's hard to put your own health above all the aesthetic benefits of wearing stilettos, but the discomforts associated with women who choose high heels (around 7cm and higher) can get worse over time. It is best to leave high heels for special occasions only, or, for example, to limit their wear to two days a week. It is also a good idea to choose heels with wider posts and noses. You should also remember to do corrective exercises to relax your muscles.
