Pregnancy is one of the most beautiful periods in a woman's life, it is also a time when a woman's body undergoes intense changes. Many ladies notice that after pregnancy and breastfeeding, their breasts undergo a marked change to their disadvantage, including losing their previous shape and firmness. They compare their breasts to an "empty sack" (the result of the loss of glandular tissue that often occurs as a result of breastfeeding). Can breasts be restored to their pre-pregnancy state? Yes, there are many ways to do this.
Table of contents:
- Breastfeeding - a definite time
- A good bra is essential
- Lubricate and exercise
- To a plastic surgeon for help
The breasts play an important role after the birth of a child - it is with them that the mother feeds her baby. It is because of their function after birth that the breasts change in volume and shape. This is why their condition declines so markedly after lactation.
Important! Take care of your breasts during pregnancy - use the right creams for pregnant women to improve skin elasticity and firmness.
Breastfeeding - a limited time
The condition of the breasts is strongly influenced by the lactation cycle - a woman's body is programmed for a two-year lactation cycle. However, such a long period of breastfeeding is extremely rare. Usually, a mother feeds her baby for no longer than a few months. The decision to shorten breastfeeding is very often dictated precisely by the woman's concern for their condition.
Important! The breastfeeding period should not be shortened - a shortened lactation cycle disrupts the natural recovery process. As a result, the skin of the breasts, which are still prepared to produce milk, still remains stretched. Some time must pass (several months) before it starts to shrink spontaneously.
A good bra is essential
If you want to have nice breasts, it is indisputable that you should invest in a well-fitting bra. If, after pregnancy and breastfeeding, your breasts have enlarged considerably and, after lactation, have definitely lost their roundness, you will need to buy a bra that fits; however, it must not pinch.
Important! The bra should have wide and adjustable straps and a contoured cup (the shape should correspond to the natural position of the breasts).
If, after breast-feeding, your breasts have 'pulled out', it is a good idea to also wear a bra to bed. It is best to choose a cotton one without stiffening inserts.
Lubricate and exercise
The skin on the breasts is characterised by its delicacy, which is why it is important to care for it properly. Special creams can be purchased on the market that are formulated in such a way that they can also be used by breastfeeding women.
Important! Use the cream after washing. Remember not to apply it just before breastfeeding - the baby may lick off any residue.
Creams and lotions for breast care have vitamin E in them to improve elasticity and firm the skin. In addition, you can also reach for concentrated, shock treatments in ampoules - they stimulate cell renewal (fibroblasts produce collagen fibres and elastin faster), resulting in tighter skin.
Important! The cream should be applied in a gentle and circular motion, starting in the underarm area and finishing on the décolleté.
From time to time, a gentle bust peeling can be carried out during washing. Cool and short showers are best for the breasts - they promote firmness and tone. Alternate between warm and cool water.
Proper exercises are also important in the process of care measures, which will take care of the condition of the chest and definitely improve the appearance of the bust. The best exercises include: swimming, chest and arm strength exercises.

Seek help from a plastic surgeon
It happens, despite treatments of a non-invasive nature, that the breasts do not return to their pre-pregnancy state. In such cases, aesthetic medicine comes to the rescue.
1.Silicone implants are still the most popular treatment to achieve the ideal shape and size of the breasts.
The most popular implants are silicone gel-filled, textured, anatomically shaped implants.
Important! It is important to remember that breast augmentation and correction with implants is an operation and, like any procedure of this type, involves the risk of complications (including the formation of a haematoma around the implant, the development of infection around the implant).
The procedure for silicone implants takes approximately two hours and is carried out under general anaesthetic. The surgeon inserts the implant through a skin incision (under the armpit, around the nipple, in the subpectoral fold), then places the implant in a lodge under the mammary gland on the pectoralis major muscle or under the muscle.
Important! In principle, implants are intended for life. However, when the skin and muscles sag, the implants need to be replaced.
2. Breast augmentation with hyaluronic acid has been a very popular procedure for some time. It is carried out in an outpatient setting under local anaesthetic and takes about 45 minutes.
The procedure involves the doctor making small incisions under the armpit, through which the hyaluronic acid preparation is administered. Once the injections are completed, the breast is modelled (achieving uniformity in texture and eliminating irregularities and lumps). Afterwards, modelling patches are placed around the enlarged breast (these are pulled off 7 days after the injection).
Important! With this treatment method, it is possible to lift the breasts, improve their firmness and shape and increase their size by up to 2 sizes.
The effect of the treatment is not permanent (hyaluronic acid is absorbed by the body). In order to maintain the effects, the treatment should be repeated after one year.
3.Breast augmentation with the use of one's own fat tissue (stem cells) is an increasingly popular method among women. In addition to achieving the ideal bust, the procedure also helps to get rid of body flaws in the form of excessive fatty tissue.
The procedure is carried out in stages, firstly the fatty tissue is removed from the patient's body (liposuction from places such as the buttocks, thighs or abdomen). The cells are then placed in a special apparatus, in which conditions are created that encourage their growth and division. The resulting suspension is then injected by the surgeon through small punctures into the breast (the area below and above the mammary gland), where it is transformed into adipose tissue. Sometimes the procedure is complemented by modelling of the subpectoral fold.
Important! Some of the transplanted fat tissue is absorbed. The part that is flexed remains permanently in that location. However, it undergoes the same changes as the remaining fatty tissue in other areas of the body (e.g. if the patient loses weight, the breasts may also shrink). Sometimes, the procedure is repeated to achieve a better result.
The list of procedures aimed at restoring the breasts to their former condition and appearance is considerable. It is best to consult a specialist who will advise on the appropriate therapy.
