Celiac disease, a lifelong intolerance to gluten, affects 1% of the population, or approx. 380,000 Poles. Unfortunately, it is diagnosed in only 1 in 7 sufferers. Those undiagnosed therefore eat foods containing gluten and unknowingly harm themselves. Ignorance in this case is painful and very harmful. Untreated visceral disease leads to serious complications, including intestinal cancer.
