Migraine is classified as a chronic, paroxysmal condition characterised by specific symptoms. An additional aspect is the migraine aura, which affects approximately 15% of people dealing with migraine pain attacks. From a clinical point of view, the multitude of accompanying symptoms makes it possible to conclude that it is not just a "headache" but a systemic ailment, interfering with normal human functioning. It can be triggered by a great many factors that are highly individual, although in fact the cause of the attack in many cases is elusive.
