The revitalisation of the intimate area, using platelet-rich plasma, has recently become a very popular method to increase sexual desire, as well as better sexual sensations. In addition, the treatment, called Orgasm - Shot, eliminates symptoms of stress urinary incontinence and reduces pain during intercourse in women affected by dyspareunia. The method is also used to enhance the effect of laser vaginal shrinking.

  3. Summary

Sexual dysfunctions affect many women at various stages of their lives (e.g. after childbirth, during menopause) - the consequences are a decrease in libido and an inability to achieve orgasm. Until now, there has been no effective method that could eliminate or alleviate this intimate problem. Nowadays, medicine has come to the rescue with the Orgasm-Shot procedure, which involves injecting platelet-rich plasma into the intimate area.

Platelet-rich plasma - characteristics

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP - platelet - plasma movement) is used successfully in many aesthetic medicine procedures (including the Orgasm - Shot procedure) - it is a concentration of platelets in a small amount of plasma. Plasma is characterised by the presence of a number of growth factors that help to stimulate the formation of new collagen and blood vessels and accelerate the formation of new epidermal cells.

Important! Treatments using platelet-rich plasma are considered extremely safe, contributed to by its 100% biocompatibility and immunological neutrality - so there is no risk of an allergic reaction.

The procedure for obtaining the platelet-rich plasma needed for the treatment is carried out in stages:

  • the patient's blood is drawn through a special kit used to draw blood directly into the test tubes intended for this purpose,
  • the blood sample tubes are placed in a special laboratory centrifuge where they are spun at the appropriate speed and time,
  • the platelets are separated from the other components and then suspended and concentrated in blood plasma,
  • the platelet-rich concentrate, together with the plasma, is put into a syringe,
  • the appropriately prepared platelet-rich plasma preparation is injected into the skin in the appropriate areas.

Orgasm - Shot, ie

Dr Charles Runels, a native of Alabama, is the creator of the Orgasm Shot procedure . The procedure involves drawing the patient's blood, which is then centrifuged to obtain a platelet preparation that the doctor injects into such areas as the skin:

  • the clitoral area,
  • the anterior vaginal wall.

Prior to the procedure, a medical consultation is necessary, during which the doctor takes a medical history, determining the patient's general state of health.

The area to be treated is adequately prepared by applying a superficial anaesthetic. The plasma is injected into the skin and subcutaneous tissue using a needle mesotherapy technique. The procedure takes approximately 40 minutes. Immediately after the procedure, the patient can return to her daily activities.

Important! Patients feel a difference in sexual intercourse on average three weeks after the procedure.

However, it is important to remember that the effects of the treatment are individual for each patient - time is needed for the production of new cells and fibres and the development of vascularisation (the plasma stimulates tissue revitalisation and regeneration). These processes proceed at a similar biological speed, but are conditioned by the individual predisposition of the patient and the advancement of the lesions treated - the desired results are obtained in each case at a different time.

A study published in the Journal of Women's Health Care shows that 64% of patients experience an improvement in sexual sensation after Orgasm - Shot treatment.

The role of platelet-rich plasma injected into the intimate area is to promote regeneration, stimulate circulation - the treated skin fragment is nourished anew, causing regeneration of the vaginal mucosa, increasing its tension, increasing its elasticity, as well as reducing inflammation and vaginal dryness. As a result, orgasm is easier to achieve, sexual desire increases and pain during the sexual act is reduced (dyspareunia).

Important! The effects of the treatment last up to one year.

Indications for this type of treatment are:

  • libido disorders,
  • pain during intercourse,
  • lack of orgasm,
  • stress urinary incontinence,
  • lichen on the skin of the vulva,
  • vaginal dryness associated with menopause,
  • labia majora atrophy,
  • estrogen intolerance in the treatment of vaginal atrophy,
  • flaccid and dry skin of the intimate area,
  • damage to the vagina caused by inflammation or surgery resulting in frequent intimate infections,
  • enhancement of the effect of laser vaginal shrinking.

Benefits of platelet-rich plasma revitalisation of the intimate area:

  • no risk of complications,
  • avoidance of pain,
  • no immunological risk,
  • no scalpel or wounds,
  • no risk of rejection or sensitisation.

As with any treatment, the Orgasm - Shot is characterised by the presence of contraindications, which include;

  • cancer,
  • infections of the genital tract,
  • pregnancy,
  • menstruation,
  • chronic liver disease,
  • coagulation disorders and use of anticoagulants.

Summary

The Orgasm - Shot procedure can be used by all women, regardless of age. For optimal results, specialists recommend repeating the procedure 3 times. Subsequent treatments should take place at intervals of 7 to 10 days.

If the patient intends to perform the procedure to enhance the effect of laser vaginal shrinkage, the first procedure using platelet-rich plasma is performed 7 days before the laser therapy procedure, the second on the day of laser therapy and the third 7 - 10 days later.

The Orgasm - Shot procedure is not cheap, the cost varies between £3 - 5,000.
