Skin problems

Acne is an extremely common condition that affects almost 80% of young people between 11 and 30 years of age. Several factors play a role in the aetiopathogenesis of acne. The most important of these are sebaceous gland hyperplasia accompanied by seborrhoea, excessive follicular keratosis, follicle colonisation by Propionibacterium acnes, inflammation and immune response. In addition, the increase in sebum production is stimulated by androgens, especially dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Depending on the type of predominant skin lesions, three main clinical forms of acne can be distinguished: comedonal, papulopustular and purulent.
