Step One:
Wash off any remaining polish from the nail plate with a special product.
Step Two:
Then soak your hands in soapy water. Add a few drops of lemon juice to soften and brighten the skin around the nail.

Apply a cuticle softener to the cuticles around the nail plate. Wait a few minutes for the softener to take effect before continuing.
Step Four:
File each nail one by one, making sure to keep one direction to avoid ragged nails and splitting.
Step Five:
Once the cuticles are soft, gently push them away with a chopstick.

Remove the skin that has grown around the nail with a coarse file.
