Primary (congenital) haemochromatosis is a genetic disease in which there is an excessive accumulation of iron in tissues and organs, preventing them from functioning properly. Complications of untreated haemochromatosis can include decreased libido, impotence and impaired fertility in the male. However, haemochromatosis can be diagnosed and treated, giving the man a chance to regain his sexual performance.
