Testicular hydrops can occur at any time in life, whether in an infant or an adult male. Nearly six per cent of newborn male babies, suffer from a congenital form of testicular hydrocele. Doctors see the causes of hydrops as an imbalance between the amount of peritoneal fluid and its absorption by the testicular sheaths. However, it is not only congenital defects that can cause this condition.
