The functioning of the thyroid gland affects many important processes in women. It is an odd gland of the endocrine system. It produces hormones such as T3 (triiodothyronine), T4 (thyroxine) and calcitonin. Its work mainly affects metabolism, calcium and phosphate metabolism.
