Usher syndrome, also known as Hallgren syndrome, Usher-Hallgren syndrome, dystrophia retinae dysacusis syndrome, is a rare genetic condition. Affected patients have impaired hearing and vision. At present, there is no cure for this disease, which leads to irreversible changes in vision and hearing. The affected child is under the care of several doctors including a neurologist, ophthalmologist, paediatrician and ENT specialist.
