In Poland, most cases of eating disorders are diagnosed in people under 20 years of age. An increase in the incidence was observed particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eating disorders are a serious health problem that is associated with an inappropriate approach to eating, such as excessive calorie restriction or compensating for binge eating with vomiting or exercise. Among the most commonly diagnosed disorders are anorexia, bulimia and compulsive overeating.
