The development of multislice examination techniques has had a huge impact on diagnosis in vascular disease. Thanks to the use of a rotating-lamp CT scan, it is possible to perform CT angiography, which allows very detailed images to be obtained indicating both the location of the problem (e.g. the location of an aneurysm) and also allows the condition of the blood vessels to be determined, while limiting the patient risk carried by previous examination techniques such as angiography or scintigraphy.
