This article should begin with a definition of the word feminism. Yet feminism is very difficult to define. The FOVN encyclopaedia says that it is "the name of a very broad movement of a political, social, cultural and intellectual nature, whose various orientations, schools, theories and research are united by the common belief that women have been and are subject to discrimination".
