Sarcoidosis - a disease of many names, of undetermined aetiology and often asymptomatic. It is a granulomatous disease (in which granulomas are formed). A typical sarcomatoid granuloma is a compact structure, resembling a small lump, composed of clusters of macrophages surrounded by a ring of helper T lymphocytes (cells belonging to the immune system). It can occupy various organs, starting with the lymph nodes, lungs, skin, liver, heart and ending with elements of the organ of vision. The symptoms - if present - can be very varied.
