Winter skin care

In winter, when it's the season of sub-zero temperatures, cold and wind, everyone knows the feeling of chapped lips, hands and cracked capillaries. That is why it is important to take comprehensive care of the skin.

Skin care should start with taking care of the facial skin and hair, under which there is also cold-sensitive epidermis. Shampoos and conditioners should be used starting with the head; many companies offer products in the "winter care/protection" category.

All creams are best absorbed after cleansing the face with milk and toner or cosmetic cream, or you can exfoliate the face with an enzyme scrub. For the whole body, on the other hand, gels with microgranules are excellent for nourishing and conditioning damaged skin.

Few people know that the skin needs to be treated with sun cream even in winter! The sun reflects twice as strongly off the snow, so a minimum of SPF15 sunscreen is essential. Let's also remember the eye cream, it reduces puffiness under the eyes and keeps you looking healthy even on a tiring, hard day.

Hands also need to be lubricated with a protective cream, and lips, which get chapped because they contain no fat, also need a protective lipstick. Let's also take care of our feet, exfoliate dead skin and rub in nourishing cream.

For daytime skin, we recommend semi-oily creams and for nighttime, moisturising creams. For vascular skin, there are lines of specialised creams that care for even the most sensitive skin types. In winter, creams with fruit acids and microdermabrasion treatments should be avoided as they can damage and unnecessarily dry the skin.

Our diet should contain silicon, magnesium and potassium. These elements protect the skin from water loss in the body. Vitamins, especially A plus E, which protect against free radicals and delay the effects of ageing, are also an important addition. It is worth using products with the above-mentioned elements because of their effect on the appearance. Zinc will help our nails and hair to return to a beautiful, soft, summer-like appearance. So prepared for winter, we don't have to worry about welcoming spring in bad shape, which is what we wish for everyone!
