Acne rosacea is a chronic skin condition characterised by erythema, usually in the central part of the face, papules, telangiectasias and purulent pustules. It is estimated to affect around 10% of the general population. Unlike type one acne, it is not the result of a hormonal disorder during puberty, but a genetic predisposition and a skin type prone to redness. It usually occurs in people between 30 and 50 years of age.
