People who consume more than 30g of alcohol (2-3 drinks) per day have a significantly higher risk of developing colon cancer than non-drinkers, according to the results of an analysis published in the April issue of Annals of Internal Medicine. This risk increases with daily alcohol consumption. No association was found between the magnitude of the risk and gender or the type of alcohol consumed.
