Atrioventricularblocks are the consequence of delayed or interrupted conduction of impulses from the atria to the ventricles. The conduction disturbance can occur at any stage: in the atrioventricular node, in the bundle of His, in the branches of the bundle of His or in the Purkinje fibres. Blocks can be paroxysmal or permanent.
