Girls before the age of ten and teenagers with insulin-dependent (type I) diabetes experience eating disorders significantly more often than their healthy peers, according to Canadian researchers who published the results of their study in the July issue of Diabetes Care.

The study was conducted on a group of 101 girls (9-14 years old) with insulin-dependent diabetes and a group of 303 healthy girls.
