Migraine is a chronic condition characterised by paroxysmal headaches accompanied by hypersensitivity to sound and light, nausea and vomiting. It affects women far more often and has a familial occurrence. A migraine attack consists of a foreshadowing phase, an aura, an actual headache and a post-epileptic phase. The first one is extremely important - this is when we are able to prevent further ones from occurring by taking the right dose of the right medication.
