This is a congenital, cyanotic heart defect. It involves displacement of one or two tricuspid valve leaflets towards the apex, deep into the right ventricle. This leads to so-called atrialisation of the right ventricle and a reduction in its volume and abnormalities in the function of the tricuspid valve.
