Depression

The results of a recent study have shown that, contrary to the fears of many, there is an effective way to help poor, neglected women struggling with depression and multiple life problems. They found that such an effective way is to immediately implement treatment for depression by the first doctor such a woman sees (starting treatment with antidepressants or psychotherapy) and avoid referring her to a specialist centre.

A study with paroxetine (6 months) or bupropion or cognitive behavioural therapy (minimum 8 weeks), conducted on a group of 267 women with depression (from very poor backgrounds, mainly minority women).
