A report by a team of Boston researchers shows that teenage lesbian and bisexual girls are more likely to be addicted to nicotine than their heterosexual peers. Girls with lesbian and bisexual tendencies are 10 times more likely to smoke regularly than heterosexual girls. No such differences were found in boys - regardless of sexual orientation, they smoke just as often.

The report is based on data from the national Growing Up Today Study of 16,000 girls aged 12 to 17.
