Thetongue is an organ of the oral cavity that has many functions. Among other things, it is involved in chewing and swallowing food, sucking, or enables the perception of taste stimuli through the papillae. Due to the environment present in the oral cavity, various infections can be expected in this area. One abnormality that occurs is fungal infection (oral candidiasis).
