It has long been known that gestational diabetes increases the risk of, among other things, macrosomia in the foetus or type 2 diabetes in the mother in the future. However, with more and more studies being carried out, it is becoming apparent that gestational carbohydrate disorders are far more dangerous and exacerbate the possibility of many more problems. Recently, Finnish researchers presented the results of their study, which showed that gestational diabetes increases the risk of postnatal depression.
