Since September, a French driver training centre has introduced a new teaching element - driving with special glasses that produce the effect of alcohol intoxication. Prospective drivers drive in these glasses through a specially constructed pedestrian crossing, full of various types of obstacles. The specially cut lenses of the glasses make the field of vision similar to that of a driver with between 0.7 and 1.4 per mille of alcohol in his blood. Similar exercises are to be included in the programme of all driver training centres in France in the future.
