Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the Perelman School of Medicine, have developed an innovative method for detecting cancerous cells. A dye that glows in infrared light and accumulates in the affected tissue was used to identify them, allowing the precise identification of tumour sites, but also confirming the removal of all such sites, which is of particular importance in breast cancer.
