The results of a study conducted by researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University and published in a recent issue of the American Journal of Psychiatry indicate that in those people who have experienced a horror situation in their lives, nervousness eminently increases the risk of developing major depression.

The study was conducted on a group of 7517 people from the Virginia Twin Registry.
