Just as one person may find a particular perfume to smell simply insane, another may find its scent repellent. The reason for these differences is that different people may simply experience the same fragrances differently. It has long been known that our sense of smell is mainly influenced by genes. Recently, however, a team of scientists from several countries discovered how much of a role environmental factors play in how people perceive odour stimuli.
