The results of a study published in the April issue of the American Journal of Psychiatry indicate that men who use cannabis experience a first psychotic episode and the onset of schizophrenia earlier (on average 6.9 years earlier) than men who do not use cannabis.

A study conducted in the Netherlands, on a group of 133 people (97 of whom were men), 70 of whom used cannabis.
