Moderate diets and the threat of overeating

The results of a study published in the September issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggest that doctors should not be afraid to recommend moderate calorie restriction diets to obese people - unlike restrictive diets, they do not cause mood disorders or overeating attacks.

the 40-week randomised trial, conducted on a group of 123 obese women who were divided into three groups: (1) restrictive diet - 1000 kcal/db, 4 liquid meals per day, (2) moderate diet - 1200-1500 kcal/db, normal meals, (3) no diet.
