The causes of multiple sclerosis (S), despite much research, are still unclear. Genes, but also various environmental factors - including viral infections - are suspected to influence the occurrence of the condition. Much has already been said about the link between EBV infections and S, but recently researchers from the Swedish Karolinska Institutet looked at the impact of another pathogen - the HHV-6 virus - on the occurrence of the disease .
