Frequent use of painkillers can paradoxically induce headaches, so-called rebound pains.
Headaches caused by frequent use of painkillers occur daily or almost daily, start in the morning hours, and are accompanied by nausea, depression, irritability, sleep problems. They may occur after frequent aspirin use. The discomfort subsides when the causative drug is discontinued, which is often associated with a transient worsening of the headache over several days.
