Psychogenic movement disorders include paresis or paralysis of the limbs as well as involuntary movements resembling tics, tremor, dystonia or chorea. However, unlike the above-mentioned disorders, psychogenic disordersdo not involve organic damage to the central nervous system. It is therefore assumed that they have a psychological and not a neurological basis.
