The main objective of the School Prevention Programme is to reach young people as effectively as possible, especially those at risk of social maladjustment or addiction. The programme will be implemented primarily by young people who are trusted by their peer group and are most familiar with the problems of their own friends. Trained teachers and pupils will set up advice centres in schools, and groups of young people actively involved with others will promote friendship, help, understanding and peer support in various ways. Selected educational establishments in Lublin, Szczecin and Toruń have been included in the programme.

In addition, new centres providing free assistance to young people have been set up in Warsaw: Youth Counselling Centre for People with Alcohol Problems and Their Families (75a Dąbrowskiego Street) and Day Care Unit for Children and Youth Addicted to Psychoactive Substances (1 Otwocka Street).
