Synesthesia is a specific sensory processing condition in which certain types of stimuli, such as tastes, smells, sounds or letters are automatically assigned additional characteristics, such as colour, texture or shape. In the studies described below, it was examined whether it occurs more frequently in people on the autism spectrum.
