Psychological therapy

The authors of a paper in the April issue of Archives of General Psychiatry argue that vascular atherosclerosis and depression are interrelated in the elderly. Their study shows that people with vascular atherosclerosis are more likely to suffer from depression. People with coronary artery calcification are four times more likely to suffer from depression than those with healthy vessels, and people with aortic calcification are twice as likely to suffer from depression as those with healthy vessels.

A crossover study of 4019 people over 60 years of age.
