Complications during pregnancy and childbirth (including very rapid delivery, being the last of several twins born), but also the mother's low level of education and her very young age, are associated with a higher risk of suicidal behaviour in the child's adolescence, according to a study conducted at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden, and published in a September issue of The Lancet.
