The European Academy of Neurology, at its congress in Istanbul, issued the first recommendations to date on the diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic management of tick-borne encephalitis, which is an increasingly common disease. The guidelines specify the examinations that should be carried out in the event of a suspected case of TBE, the therapeutic management, as well as the recommended preventive measures, which should be carried out especially in high-risk areas.
