Vaccines containing timerosal beneficial for children

As reported in the September issue of Pediatrics, the results of two UK studies indicate that immunising infants with vaccines containing timerosal (a preservative containing mercury salts once suspected of causing developmental disorders; it is found in the mumps, measles and rubella vaccine, among others) may have a very beneficial effect on the child's subsequent development - their behaviour and cognitive functioning.
