Sore throat

The results of an Austrian study, published in the April issue of Menopause, confirm that women in the menopause often have a change of voice. Of the 107 women surveyed, as many as 49 observed a change in their voice and 35 of them complained about the resulting discomfort. In the women who noticed the changes themselves, laryngoscopic examination revealed more pronounced changes in the larynx than in the women who did not notice any changes in themselves.

A study using a questionnaire and additional specialist examinations (including a detailed laryngological examination), conducted on a group of 107 postmenopausal women (age range: 37-71 years).
